President's Report

Building a Closer, Stronger Financial Planning Community in Nebraska

By William Callahan, CFP® -- FPA of Nebraska President

When I began my work serving the Financial Planning Association of Nebraska, I sought to find a way to bring more of our region’s practitioners and advanced students together.

To do so, we concluded it would be necessary to create an event that was valuable enough to bring our diverse membership together for a day, and ensure it was worth everyone’s time to drive from all over Nebraska and even from our neighboring states.

Our vision for the association is to build a stronger financial planning community in Nebraska. We believe, among other things, that this requires leading education, access to peers and a sense of community amongst practitioners. We earn and maintain our clients trust by staying informed of the most current advances in financial planning, investment allocation, tax policies, estate planning opportunities, insurance best practices and so much more. Our education and wisdom, in addition to our daily acts of honesty and integrity, are our cornerstones for public trust.

Our desire for the Nebraska Wealth Management Conference was to create a gathering for the highest quality practitioners in the state, across a variety of backgrounds and groups. The scope and size of the event is unprecedented, and would not have been possible without the joint planning and resources of the Financial Planning Association of Nebraska, Creighton University, and the CFA Society of Nebraska together.

If you haven’t already, I invite you to learn about our incredible lineup of expert professional speakers coming from all over the country to Nebraska on October 22. You can find more information about the conference and register at the conference website.
